Ben went to Santa Cruz for the first time today. He isn't sure what all the fuss is about. He didn't get to play in the water or the sand. He did wear his shades though to make sure he looked cool for all the ladies on the beach. You just gotta love 70 degree weather in January!

7 Weeks Today!

I can't believe that Ben is 7 weeks old already. My maternity leave has gone by soooo quickly. I feel like if I blink, he grows.

First Smiles

Ben has started to coo. He likes to talk to his glow worm which we put at his changing table. He tells stories to his "friends" in his crib to when the mobile is going. He has also started to give little smiles. He was smiling to his "friends" on his playmat yesterday, but our camera wasn't fast enough to catch them. I swear I tried about 40 different pictures, but only got the end of each one. I'm starting to get so sad that I have to go back to work in a week. Ben is just starting to become a real baby, not just a sleeping baby. He is just wonderful.

I think the most frequent question I have been asked about Ben is how are Jake and Olivia doing with him. Well, Jake is the best helper. He does everything I ask of him with Ben and he does it well. Otherwise, he pretty much ignores him with the expection of a sweet kiss every once in a while. Olivia is also a great helper. She wants to help all the time and I mean all the time. She loves to touch him always telling me he is so soft. She loves kissing him, hugging him, stroking him, and being just as close to him as possible. She loves to hold him and wants to carry him around the house. She doesn't understand why we won't let her take care of him by herself. If you saw the way she takes care of her baby dolls you would totally understand. (Did you know a baby doll bounces great when thrown down a flight of stairs?) Have the three of them made the adjustment? I think we are well on our way.

I'm Going To Be An Auntie Again!!!!!

Steve and Adrienne told us last week that they are expecting their second baby in late August! I'm so very happy for them. Babies are so wonderful. Congratulations Adrienne and Steve; Mason too!
